Honors Humanities
Honors Humanities is a great way to get challenged with Humanities content while still staying on the same page with the whole class. This year during Honors, we were focusing on writing critical analyses in response to John Ellis' book, The Founding Brothers. The essential questions for our essays were very vague in order to give us the opportunity to mold our response into whatever form we would prefer. The essential question that I focused on during out first semester honors project was, "What is most impressive about Abigail Adams' intervention on her husbands behalf in his quarrel with Thomas Jefferson? Is it possible to compare the political partnership of John and Abigail Adams with, for example, that of Hillary and Bill Clinton?". I decided to take an angle on this question that would combine my Women and Gender Studies class with the ultimate prompt. It resulted in an essay that looks at the comparison between Abigail Adams and Hillary Clinton fighting a certain "era" of masculinity and why it is so significant. My essay for Honors can be found below in the linked document.
