Forensics
In this project, we studied Forensic Sciences and all of the processes that forensic scientists go through in order to solve how a murder happened. It was a very fascinating project because there were three separate crime scene scenarios that all of the groups could end up with (the groups were assigned one out of the three). We then searched our specific crime scene for evidence that would help us solve the case. When that was done, we did an array of procedures to test DNA, and anything else that could help find the murderer. This was an amazing project that personally opened up my eyes to the world of forensics. This project had a very positive influence on me because it showed me what I will need to do in order to pursue a career in forensics. I learned so much about the kinds of things that forensic scientists deal with, as well as how many different units one can go into in forensics itself. There are jobs like toxicologists, entomologists or coroners. Knowing this will help my pursuit of this career because it will help me focus my goals in a specific direction as opposed to a broad spectrum.
If I were to do this project again, I would try to get a better understanding of the processes that I was about to get involved in beforehand, so that I would be able to follow what we were doing better. If I were to do this, I think it would greatly help getting that much deeper and involved with the project.
